Woody joined TCV in 2008 and has been working in the venture capital industry since 1995. During that time, his investment focus has spanned the consumer, fintech and enterprise software sectors. Woody is currently involved with investments in Believe, Built, ByteDance, Electronic Arts, GoFundMe, Hotmart, Humu, Instacart (CART), Miro, Nerdy (NRDY), Netflix (NFLX), Newsela, Nubank (NU), Payoneer (PAYO), Peloton (PTON), SeatGeek, Sojern, Spotify (SPOT), Twilio, and Wealthsimple. He was formerly involved with investments in Airbnb (ABNB), Dollar Shave Club (acquired by Unilever), Green Dot (GDOT), Groupon (GRPN), HomeAway (acquired by Expedia), Minted, Retail Merchant Services (acquired by Teya) and XRS (acquired by Omnitracs). Prior to joining TCV, Woody spent 12 years at Trident Capital, a venture capital and private equity firm, where he focused on the payments, internet, and mobile markets.
Education
Woody earned his B.A. from Hamilton College and his M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Woody is also on the Board of Trustees of Hamilton College.
