Background
John joined TCV's investment team in 2012 and helped to open the firm's London office. He focuses on investments in the consumer, fintech and enterprise software sectors. In addition to his investment activities, John is also a member of TCV’s Executive Committee, which oversees the general management of the firm and its funds. John is currently involved with investments in Adevinta, Allica Bank, Believe, Brillen, Celonis, Dream Sports, Employment Hero, FlixMobility, Klarna, Mambu, Miro, Mollie, Qonto, Razorpay, Redis Labs, RELEX Solutions, Revolut, Sport Radar (NASDAQ: SRAD), The Pracuj Group (WSE: GPP), TourRadar, Trade Republic, and Zepz. John was previously an investor at Summit Partners, where he focused on investments across software, internet, and financial technology. He started his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where he worked in both London and New York.
Interests
John left his native Ireland more than 20 years ago and has lived and worked in the U.S., Asia, and now Europe. Prior to joining the investment world, John competed on the men’s ATP Tennis Tour (where he is a current advisory board member) and was a member of the Irish Davis Cup team from 1996 to 2004. He is a sports fanatic and has competed in tennis, rugby, football, squash, and Gaelic football. These days, John mostly plays with his kids and enjoys watching the occasional Manchester United match.

John received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and graduated with a B.A. in Economics (with honors) from Harvard College.
