Chuck joined Technology Crossover Ventures as a Venture Partner in September, 2011.
Prior to TCV, Davis led Fandango to become the nation’s top moviegoer web, mobile, and ecommerce destination during his five years (2006-11) as its CEO. As Chairman and CEO, Davis sold Fandango to Comcast Corporation in 2007. Additionally, as EVP of Comcast Interactive Media, Davis led the 2008 acquisition of DailyCandy.
Previous to joining Fandango, Davis led Shopzilla, Inc., formerly BizRate.com, from its infancy to its status as the largest, most profitable and fastest-growing comparison shopping site online. Davis served as Shopzilla's president and chief executive officer from 1999 through its 2005 acquisition by the E.W. Scripps Company for $569 million.
Davis was president, e-Commerce for The Walt Disney Company's Internet Group where he launched many merchant and travel businesses including Disneystore.com and Disneyvacations.com and supervised advertising sales, marketing, and online subscription initiatives during his 1996-99 tenure. As TV Guide’s senior vice president of marketing, Davis directed the consumer marketing and circulation groups for America's then-largest magazine from 1992-95, becoming the last executive there to increase the subscription circulation (from 7 to 9 million subs). Davis started his career at Time Inc.'s Sports Illustrated, Life, and Time Magazines in marketing, circulation, and financial roles.
Davis earned his BA from Brown University and his MBA from Harvard University. He serves as a director on several boards, including Boingo, Shop.org, The Teaching Company, the Brentwood School, and as a trustee at Brown University where he serves as vice chair of the Advancement Committee. Davis is the 2012-13 International Chairman-elect of the Young Presidents' Organization worldwide board of directors where he currently heads YPO's Networks and Technology Committees. Davis served as a director to Business.com through its $345 million sale to R.H. Donnelley in 2007. Davis won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Los Angeles in 2004 and serves as a judge for E&Y’s annual competition.
