Ted Coons joined TCV in 2011 and has fifteen years of financial and investment experience in the technology sector. He focuses on infrastructure investment opportunities including the datacenter, mobile/wireless, networking, storage and security sectors.
Prior to TCV, Ted was a Managing Director in Blackstone’s Private Equity Group where he sourced, evaluated and executed investments across the technology sector. Before joining Blackstone, Ted was a Vice President at the Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group where he was responsible for advising and financing the firm’s semiconductor and capital equipment clients. Ted began his career as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank.
Ted graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, where he received a BS in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School. He is on the board of directors of Achievement First Endeavor, a charter school in Brooklyn, New York, the New York City/Newark Advisory Board of New Leaders, and the board of overseers of the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.
